Management: How to influence and have the greatest impact on a business

THERE THREE LEVERAGE POINTS OF LEADERSHIP
Three key ways a leader can influence and have the greatest impact on a business
1.       Crafting and adapting strategy
2.       Getting the most out of people
3.       Driving execution
One of the best ways a company can improve its strategy is focus on people, either by increasing the level of strategic understanding of an existing team, or by recruiting new people capable of crisp strategic thinking.  On the other hand if people know that a company’s strategy is inherently flawed, they are unlikely to be motivated to put forth their best effort.  Fixing the company’s strategy first can be the best way to get the most out of people.  Effective execution can impact a company’s ability to both craft strategy and to motivate employees. A company that does what it says it is going to do (effectively executes) is “making its word count” and thereby directly building company character. Effective execution can improve the quality of a company’s strategy because people and companies learn best by doing.  The faster and more effectively a company executes the faster its “store” of learning increases—and strategy is nothing but the sum total of what a company has learned about itself and its environment.
